As a fifth-generation islander, Theila raised her two daughters here on this beautiful island in the tradition of her family, and now she enjoys having her grandchildren visit as often as possible. She graduated from Lake Superior State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology in 1974. In 1975, she began to work for the family business with her father, who established Drummond Island Realty. Soon afterward she became Associate Broker in 1978 and then a full broker and owner in 1983. Theila loves real estate and takes great satisfaction in finding buyers the property they have always wanted, and is equally delighted when she can help sellers successfully sell their properties. As an expert on the Drummond Island, she is aware of the unique attractions of each part of the glorious land. It’s clear to many that she has been blessed with an intimate knowledge of the island. Over the years she has Jeeped, snowmobiled, four-wheeled, boated and hiked the entire Drummond Island area, as well as much of the surrounding islands. Her latest outdoor love is kayaking, where she can admire the beautiful landscape from another perspective. Over the years she has befriended many individuals as new people have moved to the island, some of which have become her clients. Theila feels that each new member of our community contributes to the mosaic of our island; each person adding their particular strengths to the community as a whole. Overall, she enjoys her career in real estate and plans to continue for many years to come. Her knowledge and prowess in the field would be more than suitable to assist anyone with their real estate needs.
